Since I was a kid, I have always been fascinated by flying machines. Poitiers was kind of a training ground for parachutists before going to Algeria. On some Saturdays, we usually had a DC-3 circling around and dropping army parachutist. This was something I always followed.
I remember when I saw my first helicopter. It was an American Bell 47, the type that were later shown in Mash 407. I was 9 years old.
The second trimester of my "sixième", I was 10, I was nominated for "encouragement". To reward me, my parents offered me a 30 min flight in a Piper Cub (F-BHCC). I still remember the sharp turns that the pilot made above the "grotte de la Norée". I could barely see above the windows, so the turns were welcomed. After we landed, I rushed to my parents and they just snapped this photo.
